Man suffers serious injuries while working for dump truck company

Injuries suffered after workplace accidents can be severe. So severe, in fact, that some workers tragically do not survive such incidents. When they do live through a workplace accident, victims are often burdened with medical expenses and other financial strains resulting from the accident. While suffering with the long-term physical pain that so often results from accident injuries, victims should not also have to suffer financially with myriad expenses.

Some Michigan residents may be able to relate to a recent story involving a workplace accident. The sudden, unexpected nature of the incident may resonate with those who have lived through similar experiences.

A mechanic was performing a task for a dump truck company when he suddenly became involved in a major accident. He was making repairs when a dump truck’s bed fell on him. According to reports, safety bars were not being used at the time of the accident.

Authorities had to extricate the man from beneath the dump truck’s bed. After being trapped under the bed for 20 minutes, he was finally taken to a nearby hospital. The man suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident.

Injuries suffered while on the job can be life-altering. Thankfully, employees are protected by certain rights if they are injured while working. In some cases, it may be appropriate to file for workers’ compensation. Workers’ compensation can help those who have been injured on the job recover costs associated with a workplace accident.

However, filing a claim for workers’ compensation can be a difficult process, making it sometimes necessary to seek out guidance and expertise while going through the process. With a successful workers’ compensation claim, injured employees are often able to better cope with the costs associated with lost wages and medical expenses.
