Industrial injuries and workers' compensation benefits

One of the first questions many Michigan employees ask after being injured is whether they can sue their employer. These injured workers generally pursue workers' compensation benefits for the costs of their medical expenses and a portion of their time away from work first. Man dies from industrial injury outside of Saginaw

A steel worker was killed recently at a plant outside Saginaw, Michigan. According to reports, the Buena Vista Fire Department and the Buena Vista Police Department were dispatched to Peerless Steel around 9:45 p.m. Once on the scene, the emergency personnel discovered that one of the plant's employees had been crushed by steel that had rolled onto him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michigan man killed in industrial accident

A 49-year-old man was killed recently in a meat processing plant near Zeeland, Michigan. According to reports, the man was pulled into a piece of machinery during an overnight shift while cleaning the machinery and conveyors. His wife revealed that he was working overtime to pay household bills and will leave behind three daughters, aged 10, 7 and 11 months.

Man Killed in Tragic Slip and Fall North of Saginaw

A 58 year-old Gratiot County man was killed recently in an accident about 75 miles northeast of Saginaw. The incident occurred at the Cooperative Elevator Company. According to reports, the man was a contractor working on a feed mill. He fell approximately 60 feet through an opening and was pronounced dead at the scene.
